Welcome to our monthly product highlight blog! This month we will be recapping Phosphates and our excellent range of products that our team at The Swimming Pond Shop have created.
The products we will be going into more detail about is The Swimming Pond Shops very own inline Phosphate Filter; Phosphate X and Top Up filter.
After careful research on the most appropriate system, media and design the filter became a reality. This filter can be plumbed into your filtration system, allowing constant circulation of water and phosphate filtration.
Our Top Up filter works in a very similar way to the Phosphate X. Water enter through the filter via a simple hose connector is filtered through the media as slowly as possible to ensure all of the Phosphates are absorbed, it then exits through another hose connector and can be put straight into the pond.
Filtering phosphates out of your ponds water is incredibly important when wanting to maintain a healthy Swimming Pond. Phosphates are a primary nutrient that fuel algae growth, including unsightly blanketweed and green water. A Swimming Pond should rely on a careful biological, and if needed mechanical, balance. Low nutrient levels are essential to let your gravel filter and aquatic plants outcompete algae for food. Excess phosphates upset this balance, leading to more maintenance and less water clarity.
Remember to test your water regularly for Phosphates and have new media ready when replacement is required. See below for the link to our site.
